The short answer: "Alex Says" presents information by video and "Kathryn Explains" has written reports.
Alex and I have worked together for years. Our clients always tell us how helpful it is to hear an opinion from both of us. We have markedly different perspectives!
Interestingly enough, in the end, Alex and I agree about most things. We're just geared to look at things differently. Even when we do home price evaluations, we both go off separately to crunch numbers and then meet in the middle to compare notes. We're usually not more than 10K apart!
We decided that we'd make two information/opinion sections on our site - one for me and one for Alex so you can get the benefit of both our perspectives...virtually.
I catch friendly grief from Alex (and, well, everyone else too) that I am detail oriented to a fault, an over-explainer, unnecessarily verbose...you get the picture.
It's not that I can't get a point across, I certainly can. I don't think my point is the problem, it's all the information that comes with it!
In the interest of full disclosure, I am one of those people that occasionally have to make the "Call Back of Shame". You know, when you've left someone a message with so much information that you have talked through all the time allowed by their voicemail?
The "Call Back of Shame" usually starts out, "I'm so sorry I think I ran out of time on first message, but I still needed to let you know...".
The particulars of a situation and what might happen in any number of different scenarios or eventualities is material to my decision making process. If you don't feel this way too, you will probably find me insufferably boring (and you should probably go with Alex's side of the site).
If you are now nodding your head, I believe that this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
As I am sure you have noticed, there is a whole list of topics at the right of the screen. We also tackle issues and news in the blog, but we take requests too so if you have a question that you'd like answered please send it our way.
Thanks,
Kathryn
