SUMMARY:

Kirkland, Washington is located on the eastern shores of Lake Washington in the greater Seattle Metropolitan area which is in King County, Washington. Considered part of "the Eastside", its convenient location, spectacular waterfront views, and almost resort city like charm make it a popular place to dine, shop, and live.

The downtown area is populated with small boutiques and restaurants - discount and big box stores have been relegated to other areas. Kirkland does have the most public waterfront of any city on Lake Washington which means its parks and byways are popular among walkers and joggers.

Like many communities in the Seattle area, Kirkland has a number of different neighborhoods including Lakeview, Central Houghton, Bridle Trails, Moss Bay, Everest, South Rose Hills, Market, Norkirk, Kirkland Highlands, North Rose Hill, North Juanita, South Juanita, and Totem Lake. The City of Kirkland has a useful neighborhood map with links to the contact folks for different neighborhood associations.
